While many people in Edmonton were heading to work on the city’s Light Rail Transit, they faced delays after a death at a station. A man had been walking near the station, and was struck by a vehicle that led to his death. However, the police say that the incident didn’t lead to any criminal charges.
As those police made their way to the LRT station, it faced major delays. There were lines that made many people late for their destination, in what was referred to as a “medical emergency.” The trains were so filled up because of the delays that passengers weren’t able to board each passing train.
Buses had to be brought in with the trains being too full. Edmonton Transit Services declared that the buses can head to the University of Alberta as well as local hospitals. It took police several hours to clean up the incident and get the trains working back on schedule.
