Warren Buffett once said “price is what you pay, value is what you get.” Edmonton man Clem Ho would probably be inclined to agree; his purchase of a $125 Ring Video Doorbell potentially safeguarded everything in his house. He tuned into a live feed of his front door to see two men attempting a break-in while he was away from home. Ho watched as one of the men made multiple attempts to pry his door open with a screwdriver.
Thinking fast, Ho activated the microphone on the video doorbell unit and commanded the thieves to get away from his door. Startled by the voice, the men fled the scene. The video evidence collected by the Ring device will be instrumental in apprehending the would-be robbers. The devices also deter those who might be inclined to take a package off your porch—just don’t forget to charge it!
