Train derailments can be a very scary situation. The first thing that you worry about is someone being hurt in the incident. On the outskirts of Edmonton on the east side, a train came off of its tracks, but nobody was hurt.
It was one car on the train that derailed while the rest remained intact. There was a lot of concern about what had come out of the derailed car, as well. A large amount of a grey powdery substance had been ejected from the train car.
Thankfully, it was deemed to not be dangerous. It was “non-toxic,” said Lafarge Canada, the train’s owner. Canadian Pacific Railway was the one in charge of leading the train at the time of its derailment. The companies didn’t know, however, what led to the train coming off of its tracks.
